Virginia City booms again

The Gould and Curry hit the ledge with a 430 foot tunnel below A Street. A $10,000 lump of silver was blasted by one load. The quality was passable but the papers, TE and Gold Hill Union conspired to puff it up. It boomed and the mining company quickly raised huge capital for two mills. The Ophir struck close by a month later
