The TE and other papers are reporting on it. Reese River man named Cornell who went maniacal tear and gouged his tentmate with an axe, and then charged into a saloon where he slashed an arm, gashed a head, almost cut off a hand, cut up eight men before he smashed a chandelier and started a huge melee punctuated by gunfire in the dark, the crowd tearing the furniture apart to get out. Cornell escaped after slicing off somebody’s ear and then wounded 3 foot passengers en route to Clifton, to fatally, and the next morning he was found dead with his throat cut from ear to ear
