Four Carson City mucky mucks print a counter-attack on Sam, it is seconded by the Virginia City Union newspaper. Sam’s cohorts urged him to challenge the publisher of the Union. The husband of one of the offended women (a man running against Orion for Sec. State) showed up in Virginia City with reporters to fight Sam. Who laughed it off and went to Orion’s home.
