Sazerac Cafe

Writers and artists in Virginia City were famous for being proto-counter-culture avant-guard experimenters in the art of newspapers and popular entertainment. Tall tales, lies, hoaxes and great writing was infused into the culture in Nevada. They took part in 5pm ‘green hour’ meetings at a bar called “The Sazerac” which had a dark parlor room for absinthe.
