Mrs. W.H. Leighton – the Queen of Comedy arrives

Mrs. W.H. Leighton a noted comedienne arrived in Carson. Billed as the Queen of Comedy led a full troupe of comedies. They staged a 3-Act called “The Pride of the Market”, “Fool of the Family” . Her troupe included young dancer Mrs. H.A. Perry (formerly Miss Agnes Land who married actor Harry Perry just before he died – so Tom Maguire staged a benefit for her) , Mr. Woodhull’s comic songs, A.R. Phelps (light comedian), Dave C. Anderson, C.L. Graves, A. Fischer, Yankee Locke, Mrs. G.E. Locke, and old friend W. Stephenson. All tickets were a dollar.
