McKean’s Company gets Good Reviews

November 6, 2011 by fredgooltz

McKean Buchanan gets better reviews because as the reporter said, he had Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pope with him, they rank as stars. Pope was Othello to Edwin Booth’s Iago at the Old Bowery in NYC. Mrs. Pope also had acted in Laura Keene’s company. Both Popes got silver rush mad and stayed in Nevada. Buck had also added W.C. Forbes, Mr. Bowes, Mr. Livingston, Fred Franks, Julia Dean Hayne, Frank Mayo, William O’Neil, Mrs. H.A. Perry, and Junius B Booth, Jr – Edwin and John Wilkes’ brother)
